CARTA BLANCA
We decided to start off with Carta Blanca, we are basically going from one end of the cooler to the other. This beer pairs pretty well with New Mexican food, after being poured the head appeared to dissolve way too fast. This lager is produced on a large scale and weighs in at about 4.5% alcohol by volume, Dustin and I both tested a glass post fried chimichangas, to me it seemed to be fizzy yet not overboard, it still goes down smooth. Dustin noticed a hint of berry and to me it seemed light yet semi flavorful, We can now scratch this one off the list. If you're into Mexican Lagers I would have to say this is a decent beer, sort of light on specific flavor, and is not a beer i could see drinking frequently, though like a lighter ale it seems as though it would be refreshing on a hot summer day.
The head diminished before witnessing a beerstache. So we have begun the taste test process, and we're starting to realize that it's a lot different when you're looking for specifics in a beers body and flavor instead of just consuming and enjoying. Now that we have to think about it we have to seek out little key flavor notes. So I can say that as we discover how to taste beer and give better feedback we will be able to give better results. Check back for the next post, we're planning to do a different beer every night, hopefully we can do more as we get started. time to test try this one again just to make sure :)
